For myself and friends, this 1 1/8" diameter rosette pendant has come to symbolize hope for world peace and a world without hunger, war or discrimination. This mandala like rosette was, actually, inspired by the Spanish wrought iron balcony of the Cabildo on Jackson Square... yet, the hearts are similar to the African Sankofa style hearts seen in the fantastic iron works throughout New Orleans - small world! The meaning behind the Sankofa symbol is that we must remember the past when building for the future.
